Armada Cup 2013

21st to 24th February - Plymouth

Two of our Age Group divers and one Elite Junior diver competed at this year's Armada Cup at the newly built Plymouth Life Centre, home of Tom Daley and Splash judge Andy Banks.

This event is for Age Group divers and above (Level 3+) and is the first of four Grand Prix diving competitions of the year, and takes plave over three days. It consists of a preliminary round where the top 6 divers go through to the final, where the score is set to zero and the winner is the diver with the highest score at the end of the required amount of dives.

Harrison Mills competed in the Boys Group D category on the 1m, 3m and 5m platform.
Harry showed a good consistent performance scoring 132.30 on the 1m springboard from 5 dives; on the 3m springboard he scored 131.85 also from 5 dives; then finally on the 5m platform scored 89.95 from 4 dives.

Gil Segev competed in the Boys Group B category in the 1m, 3m and Platform events.
Gil had another consistent competition scoring 180.15 on the 1m springboard from 7 dives; on the 3m springboard he scored 189.00 from 7 dives, and finally on the 5m and 7.5m platforms scored 174.00 from 6 dives.

Ben Page competed in the Mens 16+ competition on the 1m, 3m and Platform event.
Competing against seasoned Elite Junior divers, he aquitted himself well with a good performance on the 1m springboard scoring 244.70 from 8 dives; on the 3m springboard he scored 162.30 from 6 dives, and finally on the 7.5m and 10 m platform scoring 259.90 placing him in 4th overall and allowing him to progress to the final.

 

The final comprised of three dives from any platform; Ben chose to dive from the 7.5m and 10m platform and finished with a score of 144.70 placing him 4th with his medal presented by Tom Daley

Well done to all divers for a great opening start to the club's 2013 competition campaign.
